This classic Brut Rosé by celebrated Champagne House Nicolas Feuillatte would make a perfect gift for any lady. Note I say ‘lady’ rather than ‘girl (but over the age of 18)’. Think Audrey Hepburn rather than Barbie. Think Givenchy rather than Woolworths.
Founded in 1976 in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in the department of Marne in the beautiful Champagne region, Nicolas Feuillatte is the newest of the large Champagne houses, and the biggest Wine-growers’ Champagne brand. They are the third largest Champagne brand in UK retail, the number one best-selling Champagne brand in France, and third overall in the world.
Positive reputation worldwide
The Nicolas Feuillatte company works more than 2,250 ha, among them 13 of the 17 Grands Crus, and 33 of the 42 Premiers Crus. That is an amazing estate, run by committed professionals. It is no surprise that they have gained such a positive reputation worldwide.
This is a salmon-pink and delicately nuanced Brut Rosé Champagne overflowing with red summer fruits, punctuated with deeper forest fruits, and perhaps a hint of vanilla adding flavour rather than sweetness. It is well-balanced and well-crafted.
This Brut Rosé would be a delight served al fresco on a warm summer afternoon, but it would be my choice for a before-dinner glass at Christmas or New Year. Its fruits would partner well with light canapés or even with a cookie after the big feast. There are always those cold meats that need a bit of help on Boxing Day. Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé comes to the rescue to continue the celebrations!
