Regular cutlery spoons and crockery vary greatly in capacity, so always use calibrated spoons and cups made for measuring.
Caution: UK (Imperial), US and Australian volume standards are different, so to avoid confusion use the metric measures if you can.

1 dessertspoon (dsp) = 2 teaspoons = 10 ml
1 tablespoon (tbsp) = 3 teaspoons = 15 ml
