Mix a cocktail, donate to charity – Hawthorn’s Gin helps out
Ahoy there. It’s Hawthorn’s Gin Happy Hour
A gin created from a recipe discovered in a Hampshire naval war hero’s diary, is inviting you to try some tantalising Autumn cocktail recipes. And as if discovering this multi-award-winning gin wasn’t enough, for every bottle you buy direct from, www.hawthornsgin.com (£26.95) they are including free delivery in the UK. If you buy direct this way you won’t just be rewarded with an enjoyable bottle: there is a benefit to a worthy cause into the bargain. Hawthorn’s Gin will donate a percentage from the sale of each bottle of their gin to The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
The brand owners chose this charity for the simple reason that the gin was inspired by the recipe of
Lieutenant Commander Skip, the grandfather of one of the founders of Hawthorn’s Gin. LC Skip was a WW2 Royal Navy Commander who became a war hero and who, in between battles, distilled his own gin, smuggled it on board ship and shared it with his crew to boost morale.
As we all need a morale boost now, here are three favourite recipes… all with a suitably nautical theme. Head to www.hawthornsgin.com to buy and donate as part of your purchase price, and then get down to creating these tempting cocktails. Life on the ocean waves suddenly became rather glamorous…
