COTTON CANDY™ Grapes

Sweet Sensation.

cotton-candy-grapesWell, this was a delicious surprise. I had seen COTTON CANDY™ Grapes in the Tesco fruit section, but a grape is a grape, isn’t it? I can give a resounding ‘NO’ to that question. These truly are exceptional and they have given me some ideas too!

An unexpected discovery through traditional plant breeding has given rise to one of summer’s most distinctive fruits, COTTON CANDY™ grapes, and they are available now. Although they look just like other green table grapes, COTTON CANDY™ grapes are a naturally bred variety with a flavour that’s unlike any other grapes. They are sweet bombs with juice and crunch.

Dr Carrie Ruxton says: “Summer is the perfect time to make the most of seasonal fruit, whether you’re packing a picnic, hosting a barbecue or simply looking for refreshing snacks to keep in the fridge. COTTON CANDY™ grapes offer something a little different, with a naturally sweet flavour that often surprises people when they first try them.

“Many people assume such a delicious flavour must be the result of artificial ingredients, but that’s not the case. COTTON CANDY™ grapes were developed using traditional plant breeding techniques, where naturally flavoursome grape varieties are crossed over successive generations to create a new variety. They contain no added sugars or artificial flavourings – their distinctive sweet taste comes entirely from the grape itself.

“Fresh fruit is one of the easiest snacks to include in everyday life, and COTTON CANDY™ grapes are a versatile option. They work well in lunchboxes, on picnic platters or simply as a refreshing snack straight from the fridge. You can also freeze them for a cooling summer treat or add them to yoghurt, porridge or breakfast bowls for a natural burst of flavour.

“If you have a sweet tooth, they’re an enjoyable way to satisfy that craving while still choosing fruit, without sacrificing the pleasurable experience of a fun snack!”

These make a wonderful cocktail garnish when used straight from the freezer. Use them in place of the traditional cherries in a clafoutis, and serve them on a cheeseboard along with goat’s cheese for a very different pairing.

Available now in Tesco, COTTON CANDY™ grapes are available in a 125g snack pot, 400g punnet and 800g sharing pack.

I am really impressed with these unique grapes, which are bound to be a hit with the whole family. Delicious!
