Aubert Vouvray Moelleux 2023
Gold in a Glass.
The Aubert family started their vineyard in 1823 and, today, Jean-Claude and his son, Didier, still produce wines. This Aubert Vouvray Moelleux 2023 is one of their creditable wines and perfect for summer.
The area around Vouvray is blessed with a soil of volcanic limestone known as tuffa. The land also creates the ideal structure for subterranean cellars for aging the wine. The Aubert cellars lie below 12 metres of rock!
Aubert Vouvray Moelleux 2023 is made using 100% Chenin blanc grapes. These are thought to have originated in the Loire Valley in the 9th century. Today, the Loire is the French wine region most closely associated with that grape. Chenin blanc is an authorized planting in many Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) regions including Vouvray.
Moelleux is a French wine term that describes a wine with moderate sweetness. And this is a quite remarkable expression of that style. It would make the perfect gift for any wine lover as it can be kept for a decade, but it can be sipped and enjoyed right away.
This is a rich and mouth-filling wine. It offers notes of honey, stone fruits and brioche. Serve it chilled at the end of a summer al fresco meal and pair it generously with your cheeseboard or a berry-laden fruit tart!
Aubert Vouvray Moelleux 2023 is a great example of why this region is becoming a favourite with this wine lover!
