100 Queen’s Gate Hotel

Splendid Location.

Queens Gate Hotel mobileYes, I am biased, I admit it, but I don’t think there are many better cities in Europe to visit. 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel offers the perfect location for a vacation.

The hotel is found just a few minutes’ walk from South Kensington Underground Station. It is served by the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines, so offering easy access to all those places that any self-respecting tourist would want to see. Yes, it’s only a short trip to Harrods as well as those world-famous museums. The Underground came here in 1868 so even your station has historic charm.

100 Queen’s Gate Hotel is housed in a Victorian 19th century townhouse. Its façade is iconic, white with columns harking back to gentler times when the wealthy needed opulent homes with space for both family and servants. Times have changed but the caché of these streets remains impressive.

The hotel retains hints of beautiful Victorian design, but it embraces 21st century comfort, technology and amenities. It offers everything a modern traveller would want and in stylish fashion. All 90 bedrooms are well-appointed and cosy. The recently re-designed bar/restaurant offers a selection of food and drinks throughout the day. The hotel’s two meeting rooms can accommodate up to 30 people each. There are plenty of spots for a nice sit-down with a street map and a cup of tea, and afternoon tea can’t be missed. This is England after all!

Queens Gate Hotel breakfastA fully equipped fitness centre is also available, although I suspect that most visitors will have had plenty of exercise while enjoying the sights of London. Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Kensington Palace are all nearby.

After a day of excitement and a restful night, a hearty breakfast is likely in order. There are freshly baked breads and pastries to tempt those whose day is never complete without a muffin. There are brimming bowls of fruit, platters of cheeses, smoked salmon and cold meats. Kids might prefer cereal and they won’t be disappointed by the selection here. The battery of hot chafing dishes is filled with bacon, British sausages, potatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes and eggs – all the fixin’s for a morning feast. One can construct one’s own Full Monty English breakfast plate.

100 Queen’s Gate Hotel ticks a host of accommodation boxes for the out-of-town visitor. The reception staff are professional and friendly, the concierge is helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms offer the perfect sanctuary for a short break for either work or pleasure. The transport links are first class, making getting around so simple.
