It’s spring and our minds turn to entertaining and, if possible, al fresco lunches with the sun beating down. Well, perhaps the weather might not be predictable, but we can be assured that a good bottle of rosé is always appreciated.
Ramon Bilbao Rosado Rioja from Tesco is great value for money and just made for pairings with light and fresh foods such as salads, seafood, or vegetable tarts. It also works well as an aperitif before lunch, or even with fresh fruits to finish a meal.
This rosé is a delicate pale salmon in colour. It offers hints of citrus and white blossoms. It is fresh, light and well balanced with a medium finish. It’s made from Garnacha grapes and has an ABV of 12.5%. The bottle sports a collar pronouncing ‘The World’s Most Admired Wine’.
This is a pleasing wine which can be enjoyed all summer long. Serve chilled for best results. It will be a delightful refresher when made into a simple cocktail by just adding well-chilled sparkling water and perhaps a couple of raspberries and a sprig of mint. Ideal for those long summer afternoons.
