Raisin and Cocoa – Biscuits by Elizabeth Shaw – product review

Elizabeth Shaw BiscuitsThe name Elizabeth Shaw immediately brings to mind those wonderful Mint Crisps (review to follow shortly). She started making them in 1937 and they have not fallen out of fashion. These days there is a new range of delicious treats under the Elizabeth Shaw banner, and they still have that high quality one has come to expect from this range.

Raisin and Cocoa biscuits are one of a selection of buiscuits from Elizabeth Shaw. Actually, to call them a biscuit does them no justice. They are small and decadent and far too good for the kids. This is smart afternoon tea fare and a little indulgence one won’t want to hurry. These are crisp biscuits with a layer of sweet and chewy caramel. The caramel is further topped with raisins and cocoa nibs and the whole confection is covered in rich premium dark chocolate. These biscuits have great texture from both the base and the sweet nibs.

Raisin and Cocoa Biscuits by Elizabeth Shaw are a sophisticated adult treat. The 140g pack holds enough biscuits to share, although it’s unlikely you will want to. They are of gift quality, so ideal for Mother’s Day or a hostess present when going to dinner. These will be loved by anyone who appreciates fine chocolate.
