‘Superiore’ Sparkling from Italy via Tesco
This delightful and affordable summer sparkle from Tesco is part of their ‘Tesco Finest’ range. We will likely be entertaining friends during the warmer weather and that means fizz. Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore is Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita which is the same as the French DOC designation. It’s an indication of the quality of wine from a particular location.
The wine is sourced from some of the best regarded vineyards on the historic and beautiful Valdobbiadene Hill in the province of Treviso in Italy. Glera grapes have been grown here for more than three centuries. The production area covers 15 municipalities at the heart of the world-renowned Prosecco Superiore region.
This is the perfect all-rounder. It’s value for money, well-balanced and is suitable for an aperitif as well as with food such as salads and cold meats, or lightly-sauced chicken or pork, or simply grilled fish. It’s lovely with fruity desserts at the end of a summer garden party.

Palate: crisp and dry apple and pear and stone fruit, and a little fresh citrus
