Prepare for Pineapple Day with unique pineapple tequila

Who knew? There is a day celebrating so many things and on 27 June 2022, if you didn’t know already, it’s Pineapple Day. If you love fine tequilas and need little excuse for cocktail, here’s something to crow about: Rooster Rojo® Smoked Pineapple Tequila

Many bartenders are predicting that tequila is the next big trend in cocktails and, as this is the only smoked pineapple infused Anejo tequila in the world, you can impress your guests with at-home cocktails based on this very special variant.

If you think of tequila as a drink to be slammed in shots, think again. There are four Rooster Rojo tequilas in the range and each is a finely crafted, 100% blue agave Mexican tequila designed to be sipped and savoured.

Rooster Rojo Smoked Pineapple uses only Red Spanish Pineapples due to the distinctive taste profile they provide in this infusion. The Master Distiller took over a year to test and taste different varieties of pineapple to bring this spirit to life.  Red Spanish Pineapples were chosen because, when combined with Anejo Tequila, the resulting drink is a delectably smooth, 38% ABV spirit that almost tastes like a cocktail in itself.

These fine tequilas are crafted in small batches at the base of the Volćan de Tequila in Mexico – the heart of tequila country. Drink them any way you prefer:  on the rocks; as a long drink, combined with pineapple juice garnished with fresh pineapple; or in a margarita. The only ‘must’ is to remember to sip, don’t slam. Pineapple twist on the Classic Margarita

45ml Rooster Rojo Anejo Smoked Pineapple
30ml Fresh lime juice
15ml Agave Syrup

METHOD

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
Strain into a fine glass
Garnish with a lime wheel and, if you wish, a rim of salt (optional).

Finos Margarita Cocktail

45ml Rooster Rojo Anejo Smoked Pineapple
30ml Orange liqueur
30ml Pineapple juice
15ml Fresh lime juice
2 dashes Angostura bitters

METHOD

Combine all ingredients except Angostura Bitters in a shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously to chill
Strain into a glass (preferably a Collins glass)
Add 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a half rim if flaked salt sea salt and a lime wheel.
