What do you buy somebody who has everything? Lemon Macarons? Hot Cross Buns? Doughnuts? They can have all those and more from Mon Dessert. There are options for buying these delicious dessert kits: one can pick specific packages or just the equipment, and buy individually or even on subscription.
The company was founded in 2012 and they have been collecting the most delicious dessert recipes and ingredients from around the world. Started by self-taught patisserie chef Samina Courtin, who trained with world-renowned French chef Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, Mon Dessert has been built upon her passion for baking.
Samina wanted to teach the home cook how to make classic desserts in their own kitchen. Today Mon Dessert products are sold in Ocado and Co-op as well as online. Everything in the kits is recycled, recyclable or reusable. All the ingredients are pre-weighed in environmentally-conscious packaging; easy-to-follow recipe cards and online video tutorials for those more intricate bakes are included.
Tailor the dessert selection
The joy of Mon Dessert is that all of the items they offer in their online shop can be purchased alone or as part of a subscription. An ideal and thoughtful gift and one which will keep giving. Upon purchasing a gift subscription, you will receive an email and a link to download a gift certificate. Present the certificate to the lucky recipient and enjoy the gratitude. The loved one will get full instructions on how to activate their subscription on the certificate, so they can tailor the dessert selection to their own tastes.
All of the Mon Dessert kits have a typical best-before date of 3-6 months, as they only contain non-perishable ingredients. This allows you to stock up your cupboard with as many as you like, making them convenient for catering for any special occasion. All kits state the allergens contained within them on the recipes. There is a wide variety of gluten-free desserts, too.
We tried the Raspberry Rose Doughnuts. The pack contained all the dry ingredients so just some milk and egg needed from my larder. There was also the optional silicone mould which worked perfectly and allowed for a truly professional result. The baked cake doughnuts were light as a feather and the raspberry and white chocolate topping added luxury. Each kit makes a dozen or so cakes, so enough for a large gathering.
A Mon Dessert subscription would be an ideal gift for the novice cook who needs a little confidence-giving support. An experienced home chef will appreciate the opportunity to try baking new delights, with the key ingredients being already prepared. So simple!
