Mexicana Vegan Cheese Block

Spice from GreenBay.

Mexicana CheeseThere are more and more vegan products available to us these days. There are now enough goods to fill a supermarket. GreenBay is a vegan supermarket conveniently online, offering a host of delicious vegan alternatives, many of which will also appeal to non-vegans.

You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this cheese and you certainly don’t have to be Mexican. I was really pleasantly surprised by the texture and spice in this little chunk of almost cheese. So many people are embracing the vegan movement; the consequence of this has been an elevation in the standards of vegan products and a crossover into the non-vegan market.

Ideal for pouring

Vegan Mexicana spicy chilli cheese alternative is a soya-, gluten- and dairy-free departure from the usual chilli cheddar. It has a robust spicy flavour and an exceptionally good melting quality, which makes it ideal for pouring over tortillas or delicious meatless nachos. We tried this cheese over simply steamed broccoli, and it was a triumph. It’s not often that you find the words broccoli and triumph in the same sentence. The flavour is convincing and the texture silky.

This Mexican Vegan Block is made from a blend of spices with jalapeño, bell and chilli peppers. It can be enjoyed in sandwiches, but I feel its exceptional melting characteristic will ensure its popularity. It tastes authentic and it is versatile. Try melting over boiled potatoes or just on toast.
