Maple and Balsamic Vinegar Strawberries
Ingredients
400g fresh strawberries
50ml balsamic vinegar
5 tbsp pure maple syrup (preferably golden colour for its delicate flavour)
1 tsp vanilla extract
3-4 leaves of fresh basil
Method
Pour the maple syrup, balsamic vinegar and vanilla extract into a pan.
Boil for 8 to 10 minutes or until you get a nice glaze.
Pour the mixture into a bowl then put in the fridge until completely cold.
Cut strawberries in quarters and put them in the bowl to soak in the mixture for 30 minutes.
Transfer to a plate or ramekin then serve with scones, clotted cream or whipped cream.
