My favourite chocolatier, Lily O’Brien’s, has come up with a convivial treat for the summer …or any time. It’s a delicious new range of Share Bags which would be just perfect to take on a picnic or with coffee after an al fresco meal. The new collection includes Crispy Butterscotch, Mega Milk Chocolate, Dark Belgian Chocolate, Crunchy Salted Almond and Creamy Caramels with Sea Salt.
Easier to cart than a messy dessert
I have tried the Crispy Butterscotch and those little discs are just as smooth and delicious as all those smart chocs in Lily’s boxed ranges. These would be a wonderful addition to your picnic hamper this summer (OK, don’t wait for that). There is a trick: pack the fizz with a couple of ice packs and place the share bag on top. The foil packaging will keep the chocolate cool and dry as well as fresh; these are much easier to cart than a messy dessert. There is a handy zip-lock bag closer, but Lily could have saved the bother as there is very little chance that the bag will ever be sealed once opened.
Crispy Butterscotch is just what one would expect. The milk chocolate is studded with crunchy gems of sweet butterscotch. The texture is a combination of creamy and crisp. They will earn the appreciation of discerning adults with a taste for the finer things in life.
