Château Courac Laudun 2024
White Cru des Côtes du Rhône.
While the Rhône Valley is renowned for its hearty reds, a change is taking place in the vineyards, where white wines are emerging as the region’s best-kept secret. They are now making a name for themselves: Château Courac Laudun 2024 is among their number.
With 12% of the 2024 harvest dedicated to white wine production, and a consistent increase in sales, Rhône Valley whites are captivating wine enthusiasts worldwide. The UK is the second largest export market.
The region’s 15 authorised grape varieties include including White Grenache, Muscat à Petits Grains Blancs, Viognier, Clairette Blanche, and Roussanne. This diversity ensures a Rhône white for every occasion, food pairing and pocket.
Nestled in the hillside of Laudun, in the village of Tresques on the west side of the Rhône, Château Courac is a beautiful property surrounded by forest. A 90-hectare estate, the Côtes-du- Rhône village was awarded Cru status in 2024. A Cru is a top appellation in the Rhône, of which there are just 18.
Laudun dedicates over a quarter of its production to white wines, lovely full-flavoured white Rhône from a village that is particularly known for its whites. This is produced mostly from old vines and is medium-dry, with hints of orchard fruits and a little minerality. Serve chilled with light meat dishes, seafood and salads.
Château Courac Laudun 2024 White Cru des Côtes du Rhône is a lovely wine for summer entertaining and worth seeking out.
