Aber Falls Announces ‘St David’s Day Limited Release’ Whisky

The First Whisky Distillery in North Wales for Over 100 Years.

Aber FallsTo celebrate St David’s Day on 1 March 2024, the North Wales-based whisky distillery, Aber Falls, has released a new premium ‘St David’s Day Limited Release’ whisky. With a limited run of 350 bottles, the distinctive whisky is available to purchase exclusively from the Distillery shop in Abergwyngregyn and from the Aber Falls website.

Matured in an Oloroso cask for over 6 years and non-chill filtered, the limited-edition whisky – deep amber gold in colour – produces creamy marzipan, red fruit, mixed spice and Christmas cake on the nose. Oak and ginger notes, sweet treacle, and rich, ripe fruit come through on the palate, with a long finish including delicious hints of cereal and dried fruits.

Jill Boyd, Master Blender at Aber Falls, said: “In an expanding whisky market it’s so lovely to see people seeking out new whiskies to try and enjoy. One of the advantages we have as a young Welsh distillery is our ability to experiment with our limited editions. With this St David’s Day release, our first aged statement whisky, we look to celebrate our Patron saint and the future releases from our distillery.”

Aber Falls Single Malt whiskies are distilled, matured, and bottled in North Wales, between the foothills of the Carneddau mountains in Eryri and the Menai Straits. They are crafted using 100% Welsh malted barley and rock-filtered water taken from the Aber Falls Waterfall, and are crafted by a team of local people.

The Aber Falls ‘St David’s Day Limited Release’ whisky is bottled at 46% ABV and available to purchase from the distillery’s shop and online at aberfallsdistillery.com at an RRP of £85.
