Vizcarra Alejandra Blanco 2021
A Quality White for the Festive Season.
Juan Carlos Vizcarra and his family have grown grapes in the northern Ribera del Duero region of Spain for more than four generations; this has DO (Denominación de Origen) designation. Annual production is a total of 2100 bottles and comes from a single vineyard of some of the oldest vines on the estate. Vizcarra Alejandra Blanco 2021 is a noteworthy vintage from this celebrated winery.
This white wine is meant for laying down, and stored properly, will continue to improve for at least 20 years. It would make the perfect gift for Christmas or for a special birthday.
Great character and potential
Made from the white Spanish wine grape variety, Albillo Mayor, planted primarily in the Ribera del Duero region, this wine has great character and potential. The vineyards are found in the town of Mambrilla, in the northern central area of the Ribera del Duero DO in the province of Burgos in Castilla y León. The cool nights and hot days with lowish rain allows for a longer ripening season.
Vizcarra Alejandra Blanco 2021 has a pale straw hue. It has aromas of stone fruit, white blossoms and a hint of toast. On the palate it presents peaches and orchard fruits. It is pleasingly full-bodied with moderate acids, making this perfect for your Christmas lunch. It is, in my opinion, a wine which bats above its price point.
