Rueda is found in the Castilla y Leon region in northern Spain. This region benefits from a climate of cold winters and hot summers. Rueda was officially designated Denominación de Origen, DO for short, in 1980. The DO is the controlling body that enforces the regulations which guarantee the origin, style and quality of its wines.
Leader among wines from Rueda
Verdejo is a variety of wine grape that has long been grown in the Rueda region of Spain and Rueda Verdejo is considered the leader among the wines from the Rueda appellation. The climate allows the organically grown vines to produce luscious grapes. Fresh citrus notes and floral aromas are characteristics of the Verdejo grape.
This wine is crisp, clean, with balanced acids so perfect with a variety of foods such as shellfish, mild soft cheeses, vegetarian dishes and salads.
