Spiced cranberry & apple sauce

A delicious sauce for the festive period, perfect with turkey or pork.
Serves: 10
Preparation time: 15 Minutes
Cooking time: 8 Minutes
Ingredients
150ml apple juice
225g granulated sugar
250g fresh cranberries
½ teaspoon mixed spice
Method
Place the apple juice, sugar, cranberries and spice in a saucepan. Stir over a moderate heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Bring to the boil then simmer gently, uncovered for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until the fruit is soft and pulpy.
Carefully pour into clean, dry, warmed jars and cover as for jam.
Freezer tip: Spoon the cranberry sauce into freezer-proof containers and freeze for up to six months. Thaw thoroughly before serving.
