Sam’s Waterside for Breakfast
Location Location Food!
Brentford is coming alive. The Brentford Project has developed the water frontage with classy apartments and food offerings. Sam’s Waterside has a prime spot for breakfast, people watching and relaxing in stylish fashion.
This attractive and contemporary restaurant is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We were there for a little morning stroll, a sit-down and some delicious food. The menu offered both standard fare and some innovations, plus plenty of temptations.
We ordered tea and it came by the pot. Nothing wrong with a simple cup of tea but there is something comforting about one’s own generous pot, cup and milk jug. But Sam’s Waterside has more drinks to entice. Hows about a classic Bloody Mary or a Bloody Maria? The Waterside Breakfast Martini has me intrigued, so I guess a return visit is in order. For those maintaining bodies like temples Sam’s has smoothies and juices.
Quality ingredients
My guest chose Eggs Royale for his breakfast plate. This was a substantial portion of smoked salmon covering two English Muffins topped with poached eggs with the most vivid orange yolks to be found in West London, and both napped with traditional creamy Hollandaise sauce. Yes, it’s a classic dish the success of which is dependent upon the quality of those simple ingredients. It’s a luxurious yet accessible start to the day.
I wanted to try the Bacon and Egg Brioche. This was a sweet bun layered with melted Emmental Cheese, a fried egg and bacon. The Sriracha aioli added so much to this sandwich, contributing heat and flavour – and inspiration for my own homemade morning cuisine. It was a winner!
There is a host of breakfast options at Sam’s Waterside. There’s the usual Full English and a vegetarian alternative; there’s also Housemade Hash Brown, Treacle Cured Bacon, fried St Ewe egg and Sriracha which I will try on my next visit, as well as lots more to tempt the morning nibbler.
