Sweet Treats for the Festive Season.
Well, that came around quick! Christmas will soon be here and we need to think about making and giving all manner of cakes, pastries and pies. But this year Ginger Bakers can take the strain, or at least some of it.
Ginger Bakers was established in 2006 when Lisa began baking cakes from her home kitchen and selling them at the local farmers markets. She decided to take a leap from her career as an art therapist into cake making, following a move to the Lake District. Cumbria was able to offer a wealth of fabulous ingredients, which are still an integral part of the company’s recipes. In 2014 Ginger Bakers individually hand-crafted 10,000 Christmas cakes; however the following year when they were asked to supply again but at a more competitive price, they made the decision that if they wanted to maintain the same quality, attention to detail and integrity of ingredients they would have to step away and remain independent.

The Christmas in a Box selection is deliciously traditional and ideal for a couple who might not want to go to the trouble of mixing and making. What a welcome gift that would be: containing Iced Damson Brandy Fruit Cake, made with the finest dried fruits, soaked in brandy and finished with a generous helping of Lake District Lyth Valley Damsons; four luxury Brandy and Orange Mince Pies, made with unctuous buttery shortcrust pastry, orange zest and brandy, and filled with luxury vine fruits, cherry and orange zest mincemeat; and the piece de résistance, a Fig and Orange Christmas Pudding, brimming with figs, dates and vine fruits, enriched with lashings of rum and finished off with Lakes Distillery Orange Cask Whisky. Yes, I can personally attest to the joy that package will bring.
