Citrus and sea air
Chile has become famed for producing some of the most popular expressions of Sauvignon Blanc in the world. They tend to be great value for money. Garuma Sauvignon Blanc from Leyda Single Estate offers character and easy sipping without a big bill.
Leyda Estate is found on the west side of the Chilean Coastal Range and only 4km from the waves of the Pacific Ocean. There is an 8 km aqueduct to bring water from the Maipo River to the valley. These climatic attributes offer the ideal conditions for the production of the crisp and gently aromatic Garuma Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting notes
Appearance: clear and pale yellow
Nose: minerals, citrus and cut grass
Palate: white blossom, refreshing lemon and grapefruit, wet stones. Balanced acidity
Finish: medium with herbaceous and citrus aftertaste
Serve chilled and enjoy Garuma Sauvignon Blanc from Leyda with seafood and even sushi. Works well with tomato-dressed pasta dishes. This is perhaps my favourite Chilean wine reviewed in 2021. It will have broad appeal and is a polished and flexible wine, especially for the festive season. A good buy for enjoying at home or taking to friends. It won’t disappoint.
