The Exquisite Edition – Mother’s Day by Lily O’Brien’s

Lily O'briensWell, that came around quickly! Just finished getting the pine needles out of the carpet from the Christmas celebrations; the dustman hasn’t even collected the champagne bottles (OK, so it was prosecco) from Valentine’s; and now it’s Mother’s Day looming! Lily O’Brien’s comes to the rescue.

When it comes to gifts, mums are, for many of us, ladies of a certain age who don’t need anything else to dust. But mention the prospect of a treat in the shape of anything sweet and one is bound to get a positive response. Indicate that that confection might come in a Lily O’Brien’s box and she will swear that you were always here favourite offspring!

The Exquisite Edition contains 14 exquisitely crafted chocolates. These are available in lots of UK supermarkets; but they are of a quality more often found in bespoke chocolate boutiques, where the shopper buys chocolates in 1’s.

This box holds a collection of unique creations in milk, dark and white chocolates. The chocolate is delicious but it’s the combination of that and the fillings which is outstanding. I have several favourites and they include Sea Salt Caramel, rich and indulgent Dulche de Leche, and exotic Spiced Orange Praline. All the flavours in the collection are bright and pronounced and each individual choc is memorable.

You won’t get a look in

Any mother would love this Exquisite Edition; but any mum with any sense will likely give many thanks and a cheery ‘I’ll open these later dear, I don’t want to spoil me dinner’. You know then that she already loves Lily O’Brien’s chocolates with a passion, and you won’t get a look in. Buy two boxes!

This box contains: Raspberry & Sicilian Lemon, Ginger & Lemon Confit, Grand Cru Ganache, Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel, Sea Salted Caramel, Almond & Cranberry, Pear & Almond, Passion Fruit & Bergamot, Praline Feuilletine, Hazelnut Cappuccino, Creme Brulée, Spiced Orange Praline, Coconut & Kalamansi Lime, Dulche de Leche.
