Van Gogh’s most spectacular paintings will be brought together in a once-in-a-century exhibition being housed at London’s National Gallery this Autumn. Made in collaboration with the National Gallery, the stunning new film Van Gogh: Poets & Lovers will reveal the truth behind this much misunderstood artist. It will explore the most exciting and dramatic period of Van Gogh’s life, focusing on his years in the south of France where he revolutionised his iconic style, changing art forever. This film is a chance to reexamine and better understand this iconic artist.
One hundred and fifty years ago, Impressionism was born when artists Monet, Renoir, Degas, Morisot, Pissarro, Sisley and Cézanne opened the first Impressionist exhibition in Paris. To celebrate this groundbreaking moment in the history of art,
Dawn of Impressionism: Paris 1874 will explore this extraordinary rebellion, asking who were the maverick personalities that wielded their brushes in such a radical and provocative way. Filmed at the Musee d’Orsay’s Paris 1874 Inventing Impressionism exhibition, this film will give audiences a private view of the breathtaking work on the big screen, bringing fresh eyes to this extraordinary tale of passion and revolution, and telling the extraordinary stories behind the birth of the world’s favourite artistic movement.
The season draws to a close with Exhibition on Screen’s huge hit Michelangelo – Love and Death, returning to cinemas in May 2025 to celebrate the 550th anniversary of this iconic artist’s birth.
