Calvet Prestige Bordeaux is a great all-rounder and at a very reasonable price. It is robust with pronounced tannins and balanced acid making this a perfect marriage with bold meat dishes such as well-seasoned beef stews, and pasta with tomato sauce and parmesan. Could be the wine of choice for the Holiday season, when the turkey is trimmed with smoked bacon and there might be chipolatas. This wine would stand up to the complexities of that dinner plate.
Tasting Notes: well balanced with notes of oak, leather, black fruits and a suspicion of vanilla.
