Broxburn, Scotland \u2013 Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD), one of Scotland’s leading, independent family-owned whisky companies, has announced the launch of its dedicated Private Client Business, offering discerning collectors, investors, and whisky enthusiasts unprecedented access to some of the rarest and most sought-after whisky stocks in Scotland.<\/p>\n
The new division will provide private clients with the opportunity to acquire exceptional single casks and limited-edition releases directly from the brand owner, ensuring the highest levels of authenticity, provenance, and confidence.<\/p>\n
Among the opportunities available are rare sherry casks from Tamdhu dating back to the 1960s, some of the final remaining Rosebank casks distilled prior to the distillery’s closure in 1993, and an outstanding selection of Glengoyne casks, including both bourbon and sherry matured stocks from the 1970s onwards.<\/p>\n
At the other end of the age spectrum, clients will also have access to new make spirit casks from Laggan Bay Distillery, Ian Macleod Distillers’ newest distillery on Islay and one of Scotland’s most exciting whisky projects.<\/p>\n
With distilleries spanning the Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside and Islay, Ian Macleod Distillers is one of only two drinks companies able to offer single casks from its own distilleries across all four of Scotland’s principal whisky-producing regions.<\/p>\n
In addition to cask ownership opportunities, members of the Private Client Business will enjoy priority access to highly limited-edition bottlings and exclusive future releases.<\/p>\n
The new venture will be led by William Ovens, Head of Private Clients, working alongside Stuart Hendry, Private Client Director; both have over 25 years of experience in the premium spirits industry.<\/p>\n
Ovens has spent eight years with Ian Macleod Distillers as Head of Global Travel Retail, a role he will continue to hold, and previously held senior commercial positions with Quintessential Brands and The Edrington Group.<\/p>\n
Hendry brings 23 years of experience with IMD, most recently serving as Head of Brand Homes, where he played a pivotal role in developing the company’s award-winning distillery visitor experiences, including Glengoyne and Rosebank. His fascination with maturation saw him launch the highly successful Glengoyne cask programme.<\/p>\n
