Château Moncontour Vouvray Brut could be your libation of choice for those special get-togethers!

This is a sparkling made with the Traditional Method just like its more celebrated cousin, Champagne. Château Moncontour Vouvray Brut is produced in the Loire Valley from Chenin Blanc grapes which are particularly popular in this region of France. The vines thrive on the clay and limestone soils which give the wines their flinty character. Chenin Blanc grapes are known locally as Pineau de la Loire.

Chenin Blanc grapes produce high-acidity wines from sparkling to dessert styles. This character offers wines which work as a before-dinner aperitif but can also continue at the table when married with light dishes such as seafood, chicken and mild cheeses.

Château Moncontour Vouvray Brut is a pleasing sparkling wine that can be found at a good price. It’s well worth seeking out.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: pale gold with refined bubbles

Nose: citrus and wet stone minerality.

Palate: orchard fruits, citrus, minerality

Finish: medium with lingering fruit

A Sparkling Summer.
