This Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux 2018 from Chateau Les Tourelles pairs well with those traditional meals, and it’s outstanding value for money.

The Côtes de Bordeaux appellation was formed in 2009 to unite several ‘côtes’ of Bordeaux into a single group. The aim was to improve marketing and simplify the overall appellation structure in the region.

Côtes de Bordeaux-Cadillac is an AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) wine region in France. The region is celebrated for its red wines made primarily from the Merlot grape, with other grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon as in this wine; Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are also used.

This wine is luscious red and is aged for 12 months in stainless steel. It is medium weight, as typical of this style of red wine. It presents well-balanced acids and tannins, making this a great choice for rich meats such as beef and lamb. It’s a solid all-rounder.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: ruby red
Nose: plenty of juicy red and black summer berries
Palate: more berries with a hint of plum
Finish: pleasing medium length.

Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux 2018 from Chateau Les Tourelles is worth seeking out. It’s a delicious wine and typical of the region, but at a much more attractive price than others on the market.

This review is of an EU Fab 6 product. The project explores culinary excellence through diverse food and drink.

Chateau Les Tourelles.
