Ch\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on has won several awards and their Corbi\u00e8res 2021white wine does not disappoint.<\/p>\n<p>Ch\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on estate covers 260 hectares of garrigue, a scrubland of aromatic Mediterranean herbs and forests, including 30 hectares of vines in PDO Corbi\u00e8res and IGP Vall\u00e9e du Paradis. It has a long history: the property stands on the former medieval castle, built in 1223, when the Viscount of Narbonne gave the land to the de Treilles family, who took the name \u201cde Gl\u00e9on\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In 1861, Madame la Marquise de Gl\u00e9on sold the estate to Monsieur Hippolyte Bonnes, who split it in two for each of his sons in 1874. The Duhamel family acquired the Gl\u00e9on d\u2019en haut estate in 1991. The new owners decided to rename the estate \u201cCh\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on\u201d. Vignobles Foncalieu bought Ch\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Ch\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on Corbi\u00e8res 2021 is produced from a trio of grapes. Roussanne is a white wine grape grown originally in the Rh\u00f4ne wine region in France and here taken advantage of in the south of France. Vermentino is a popular white grape primarily found in Italy as the name would suggest. White Grenache is a variation of the better-known black Grenache grape and originally from northern Spain, where it is called Garnacha Blanca.<\/p>\n<h4>Nose: Tropical fruit.<\/h4>\n<p>Appearance: Straw yellow<br \/>\nPalate: dry, crisp and fresh, hint of minerality and orchard fruit with well-balanced acid.<br \/>\nFinish: Lingering<\/p>\n<p>Ch\u00e2teau Haut Gl\u00e9on Corbi\u00e8res 2021 has a distinct bottle shape so easy to spot. This delicious wine is perfect as a pre-dinner sip but equally with light foods, white meat and salads.
