The region enjoys around 300 days of sunshine each year although the winters present cold winds. Merlot is the second-most planted grape in the entire world and does well here.<\/p>\n<h4>Aged in oak barrels<\/h4>\n<p>Paul Mas Reserve Merlot 2023 is a good value wine with broad appeal. It is dry, has medium-full body with medium-high tannins and medium acidity. The wine has long maceration and is then aged in oak barrels, which adds plenty of depth and complexity. The deep red colour gives the expectation of a plum and black cherry-laden bottle, and it doesn\u2019t disappoint.<\/p>\n<p>Serve this wine between 15 &#8211; 18\u00b0C and open a little before pouring. Red wine-lovers will appreciate this Merlot served with savoury nibbles before dinner.
