Sparkling wine has been made in this region for over 2,000 years. \u00a0Arthur Metz\u2019s grapes are grown in northern Alsace on marl and chalk soils, producing wines which are more popular with the French than Champagne!<\/p>\n<p>The House of Arthur Metz is a leading producer of Alsace wine and the paramount maker of Cr\u00e9mant d&#8217;Alsace sparkling wine. The company became a member of Les Grands Chais de France (GSF) in 1991. \u00a0GSF was founded in 1979 by Joseph Helfrish, and the group presents quality French wines mainly for export.
