The estate is managed in organic fashion by former journalist François Collard, who oversees 40 hectares of vines and produces Les Galets d’Ores. The vineyards are covered with galets, the same round, flat stones that are found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Chateau Mourgues du Gres is recognized as one of the very best estates in the region.

International Grapes

This wine is a blend of mostly Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Vermentino. Roussanne is a white wine grape grown originally in the Rhône and offers aromatic notes to any blend. Vermentino is, as the name suggests, an Italian grape and introduces minerality and citrus. Grenache Blanc brings green apples to the mix; it originated in Spain.

Les Galets d’Ores is yellow in colour. The wine is fresh and crisp, dry with balanced acids. It is best served chilled which will allow its more floral elements to develop. Enjoy with cured meats, pork and chicken in mild sauces, seafood pasta, salads – and it’s a great choice for any cheeseboard.

Chateau Mourgues du Gres, ‘Les Galets d’Ores’ 2022.
