Luigi Bosca de Sangre Malbec 2020 is a worthy ambassador.

The winery that today produces Luigi Bosca wines was founded in 1901 by Leoncio Arizu, a Spanish citizen from Navarra who settled in Mendoza in 1890. Luigi Bosca launched the first Malbec DOC in Argentina and Latin America. Bodega Luigi Bosca is the country’s oldest family-owned winery. Today third and fourth generations of the Arizu family, Alberto Senior and Alberto Junior, both run this polished wine business.

De Sangre is the name of this particular winery in the Uco Valley, which is part of the Luigi Bosca collection. This wine is a Malbec of character and distinction which reflects the essential expressions of a fine Malbec and the skill of its producers.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: deep violet ruby red

Nose: red berries, aromatic spices and a hint of oak

Palate: bursting with fruit, a little black pepper, balanced tannins and pleasing acidity. Mouth-filling.

Finish: medium with lingering fruit and spice.

This Luigi Bosca de Sangre Malbec 2020 is full-bodied and well rounded. It pairs well with game meats, roast beef and grilled steak. It is a delight with lamb and works well with mature cheeses. Perfect for a dinner party but also for quiet sipping with perhaps a mushroom vol au vent at one’s elbow. A lovely Malbec.

Find this and other fine wines from Tesco here

A Uco Valley Mendoza Gem.
