It encourages visions of warmer weather. A get together for Mother’s Day or a springtime lunch. Cherry blossoms, daffs and some light nibbles. Yes, a memorable event after the anguish of the past couple of years. We put that behind us and appreciate a wonderful serve.

100 kilos of fresh, Norfolk strawberries

Bullards Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin is a contemporary take on a classic culinary combination. It’s a blushing and fruitful gin infused with 100 kilos of fresh, Norfolk strawberries in each distillation. There is a suspicion of warming black pepper along with the ubiquitous juniper which is essential to every gin.

This gin can be made into a more complex mixed drink or simply enjoyed over ice. Crush that ice and fill a highball glass pour over a measure of Bullards Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin and top up with a neutral tonic water. Garnish with a couple of slices of fresh strawberries and a sprig of mint and one has an Instagram-worthy cocktail. It also makes a very different gin Martini.

The flavour of this gin is well balanced with a little sweetness. Apparently, a banana is added to the distillation process to bring out the best flavour profile of the strawberries. It is made with 100% natural ingredients and nothing artificial is added. There is a punnet of strawberries in every bottle which adds aroma as well as taste.

This award winning gin wont linger on your home bar for long. It’s the ideal drink for aperitif before Sunday lunch or as a cocktail for a spring or summer garden party. Bullards Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin is made for celebrations.

Visit Bullards here

View my other Bullards review here

For Mother’s Day …or any day The season is changing, and we are on the cusp of spring.
