For decades we found Languedoc-Roussillon bottles in our supermarkets that had been filled with, for the most part, cheap plonk. But there were always some good value gems hidden there, too.<\/p>\n<p>The vineyards of that beautiful and historic region have been regenerated and revitalised over the past few years and are now reaching their full potential. The years of production of mediocre bulk wine have gone. There is now both quality and diversity of choice presented by a new generation of winemakers.<\/p>\n<p>This Ode au Muscat Moelleux is a fine example of the polished production in the region, and well worth a try. It\u2019s a perfect partner to creamy chocolate or apple and pear desserts, but also rich p\u00e2t\u00e9s and duck.<\/p>\n<h4>Tasting notes<\/h4>\n<p>Appearance: clear and pale lemon in colour<\/p>\n<p>Nose: fresh with aromas of white blossoms, stone fruit with a hint of citrus<\/p>\n<p>Palate: well-balanced with plenty of citrus and sweet honey<\/p>\n<p>Finish: mouth-filling and medium long<\/p>\n<p>Ode au Muscat Moelleux is an excellent example of the improvement of the wine industry in this corner of France that has long been overlooked by those seeking a decent bottle of wine.
