Brockmans Gin, \u2018The Properly Improper Gin\u2019 has released this new cocktail recipe for Valentine\u2019s Day 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The tasty tipple will seduce gin lovers, wine lovers, and fun lovers too.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a properly gorgeous drink with the blackberry notes enhancing the noble berries naturally present in Brockmans Gin.<\/p>\n<p>The Blackberry Shrub is easy but the ingredients need time to macerate so pre-prep this from the beginning of February.<\/p>\n<p>Red Red Wine, Stay Close to Me<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients for one cocktail<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19031 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/brockmans-red-wine.jpg\" alt=\"Brockmans red red wine\" width=\"433\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/brockmans-red-wine.jpg 736w, https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/brockmans-red-wine-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/brockmans-red-wine-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 433px) 100vw, 433px\" \/><\/h4>\n<p>2oz (60ml) Brockmans Gin<br \/>\n0.75oz (25ml) fresh lemon juice<br \/>\n0.5oz (15ml) homemade blackberry shrub<br \/>\n0.25oz (7ml) Simple syrup<br \/>\n0.5oz (15ml) Red Wine such as C\u00f4tes-du-Rh\u00f4ne<\/p>\n<p>Garnish: Dark edible flowers<\/p>\n<h4>Prepare<\/h4>\n<p>Start by making the Shrub.<\/p>\n<p>Blackberry Shrub ingredients<\/p>\n<p>440 gms of blackberries<br \/>\n400 gms of sugar<br \/>\n475ml of apple cider vinegar<\/p>\n<h4>Method for the Shrub<\/h4>\n<p>In a large 2 litre preserving jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine berries and sugar. Mash berries well. Set in the fridge for 2 days, checking and swirling fruit occasionally, until sugar has dissolved. After 2 days and once sugar has dissolved, pour in the vinegar, shake and swirl everything together, and set in the fridge another 5 \u2013 10 days. Check mixture each day and give everything a good stir. As you approach the five-day mark, start to taste the mixture \u2013 once the vinegar and sweetness have melded and mellowed to your liking, strain the mixture through a sieve and discard the berries. Pour the strained syrup into a clean and sterilised bottle with a close-fitting lid. Store in the fridge for up to three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Now the quick part\u2026<\/p>\n<h4>Method for the Cocktail<\/h4>\n<p>Combine all the cocktail ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with edible flowers.
