She is one of Australia’s most celebrated and revered chefs, who is inspired by international flavours. As a restaurateur she headed three award-winning restaurants in Australia and beyond.

Christine has hosted bespoke culinary tours in Australia and India as well as a host of other destinations. She shares her passion for subcontinental food in this substantial Indian Cooking Class. It’s one of the most accessible Indian cookbooks around and it’s written with the non-Indian home cook in mind.

Christine Manfield’s Indian Cooking Class is a substantial tome. It is unintimidating and totally absorbing. The step-by-step instructions hold the hand of the novice and give confidence to the more experienced home cooks. All one needs is a small battery of spices to be able to prepare almost all the dishes here – and what a delicious array they are.

If you love Indian food then you will likely find a host of temptations here. Everything in the book is achievable even for those new to a kitchen. There are chapters on snacks, soups, salads, egg and dairy, veggies, seafood and meat, and all those extras that help to make a perfect Indian meal.

Yes, I do have favourites from the book. There are comforting dishes such as Stuffed Potato Chops. There is Rajasthani-style Roast Chicken to elevate Sunday lunch. Almond Lamb Curry will be a warming winter dinner, and Dal Butter would add so much to a cold meat and bread platter.

Christine Manfield’s Indian Cooking Class is inclusive, informative and a delight.

Christine Manfield’s Indian Cooking Class
Author: Christine Manfield
Price: £25.00
Published by‏: ‎Simon & Schuster Australia
ISBN-13: 978-1760852436

Christine Manfield might not be a familiar name to many home cooks outside Australia, and I expect that will change when we become more familiar with her writing.
