This is seasonal cooking at its best. Fruits and veggies are at peak condition and the best price in their natural time of year. Nordic Family Kitchen shows us how to combine ingredients in simple fashion to arrive at end results which are a little different from our usual fare.<\/p>\n<p>Although this is a Nordic cookbook it is only the philosophy which is Scandinavian. The author, Mikkel Karstad, takes advantage of dry goods and spices from around the globe, but marries them to more familiar items and showcases fresh local produce. There is Pointed Cabbage Salad, as well as Chicken Salad with Tahini; Samosas and Italian vegetable pastas; Omelettes and Egg Fried Rice. There is something for every taste and budget. Most of that is healthy but don\u2019t let that put you off.<\/p>\n<p>One doesn\u2019t have to have cheffy skills to make dishes from Nordic Family Kitchen: Seasonal Home Cooking. Get the kids involved with preparing these unchallenging yet thoughtful dishes \u2013 they will be more likely to enjoy eating the end results of their new culinary adventures.
