She was known as ‘Lady of the Roses’ and the bottle with its blush pink label reflects that title – Pommery Brut Rosé Champagne.

The company of Pommery and Greno was established in 1836, but Jeanne-Alexandrine Louise Pommery took the lead in 1858 after the death of her husband. She launched the first acclaimed Brut Champagne in 1874. The original Pommery Domaine is still used in the production of all the company’s wines.

We have not had much to celebrate over the past months but perhaps we can soon join together for such events as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Easter. Pommery Brut Rosé Champagne is the perfect sparkling wine for any special occasion. The grapes are the classics for this type of wine, and they are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Delicate bubbles in refined salmon pink wine

Nose: hints of red berries

Palate: fresh redcurrant, summer berries and lemon zest. Bubbles burst in pleasing fashion. A balanced and well-crafted wine.

Finish: medium long

Pommery Brut Rosé Champagne pairs well with seafood as well as desserts. It’s the go-to Champagne for those with discerning palates and a desire to impress. The bottle is classy and timeless in silver and pink, but it’s the contents which will delight your guests.

Available from Ocado, Waitrose (and in a Gift Box) and Majestic Wines.

For any special occasion Madame Pommery, the inventor of Brut Champagne, created a style which has endured and is perfect for the contemporary palate.
