Always Home: A Daughter\u2019s Recipes and Stories is a soft and charming memoir offering an intimate view of a celebrated chef.<\/p>\n<p>Alice Waters is an American chef and restaurateur and the owner of Chez Panisse, a Berkeley, California restaurant that opened in 1971. It is celebrated for its use of local and organic ingredients, and for starting a worldwide movement appreciating fresh produce. Young Fanny spent time in that restaurant and even had another named after her.<\/p>\n<h4>Revolves around food<\/h4>\n<p>Ms Singer has an engaging style and presents anecdotes and recipes. Those dishes are tempting, but the personal narrative is the book\u2019s unique selling point. There are numerous biographies of the good and the great written by loving offspring, but one of a mother penned by her daughter is less common. We learn about the minutiae of family life. Much of the detail revolves around food but it also touches on the warm relationship shared by this duo.<\/p>\n<p>Always Home: A Daughter\u2019s Recipes and Stories is a book with which to snuggle. It\u2019s cosy yet revealing but in thoroughly positive and uplifting fashion.
