\"Kensington-melia-bed\"Melia London Kensington Hotel was the first hotel in this International chain in which I had stayed. It\u2019s a Spanish group and there is a nod to that in its restaurant cuisine, and also in the fact that most of the staff seem to be bilingual. That\u2019s a rather unique draw for those guests from both Spain and parts of South America.<\/p>\n

This 4-star hotel is located on Gloucester Road. The road is named after Maria, Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh, who built a house there in the early 1800s. One of the advantages of this cosy and smart hotel is its close proximity to an Underground station.<\/p>\n

Access to so many tourist attractions<\/h4>\n

Gloucester Road station is historic: The sub-surface platforms opened in 1868 and deep-level platforms in 1906. The station entrance is located close to the junction of Gloucester Road and Cromwell Road. It is served by the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines which allow access to so many tourist attractions in London. \u00a0The District Line will take visitors to the beautiful Kew Gardens and, in the opposite direction, the Tower of London. The Piccadilly line will take shoppers to Harrods and, when it\u2019s time to leave, to Heathrow.<\/p>\n

\"kensington-melia-table\"This townhouse-style hotel has a classic and columned exterior. The reception area is open, light and contemporary. The restaurant welcomes both guests and locals for meals and drinks. The luxurious rooms and suites are bright but with accents to remind one of the original building; panels frame Victorian wallpaper.<\/p>\n

I found the beds to be perfect. A bed seems to evoke strong emotions, but this bed was wonderfully comfortable and firm. The room sports the usual facilities such as flat-screen TV, roomy safe, hairdryer, coffee machine and minibar. And the bathroom toiletries are eminently stealable. They are from Rituals, a Dutch company famed for their quality bathroom products.<\/p>\n

Corporate and private events<\/h4>\n

Due to its superb location, Melia\u2019s Kensington hotel appeals to both leisure and business visitors. For those unfortunates who must work there are 3 meeting rooms for corporate and private events. The transport connections from Central London and airports make this hotel a good choice for meetings with colleagues from around the world.<\/p>\n

One might have enjoyed the healthy Mediterranean food at SW7 (that name refers to the hotel\u2019s post code) and feel that some exercise is in order. There is a 24-hour gym with the latest Technogym equipment for you to convert your body into a temple of fitness.<\/p>\n

Melia London Kensington Hotel ticks boxes for me. It is a pleasant place to stay. It has a superb location, and its amenities are first class. I\u2019ll return when I want to visit the best of London\u2019s museums, shops and historic buildings.<\/p>\n
