{"id":15287,"date":"2014-03-06T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-06T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/?p=15287"},"modified":"2021-11-17T19:53:04","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T19:53:04","slug":"beef-and-portobello-pasta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/index.php\/beef-and-portobello-pasta\/","title":{"rendered":"Beef and Portobello Pasta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Stop and Shop<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Offer steamed broccoli, a crisp green salad and crusty Old World bread to complete the meal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>6 oz portobello mushrooms, cleaned and stems discarded<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/Recipes\/beef%20mush%20pasta.jpg\" width=\"222\" height=\"222\" \/><br \/>\n1 pound ground chuck<br \/>\n2 tsp finely minced garlic<br \/>\n1 medium red bell pepper, seeded, cut into 1\/2&#8243;&#8221; chunks<br \/>\n2\/3 cup dry red wine<br \/>\n1 cup beef consomme<br \/>\n3 tbsp tomato paste<br \/>\n2 tsp dried oregano<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp each salt and pepper<br \/>\n2 tbsp flour<br \/>\n1\/4 cup water<br \/>\n8 oz angel hair pasta, dry<br \/>\n1\/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<p>Cut mushrooms into 1\/2&#8243; chunks, set aside.<\/p>\n<p>In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef. Remove from pan, reserve. Drain fat, except 1 teaspoon and add mushrooms, garlic, and red pepper to skillet. Cook over low heat until vegetables are soft.<\/p>\n<p>Return beef to pan. Stir in wine, consomm\u00e9, tomato paste, oregano and seasonings. Cook until heated through.<\/p>\n<p>In a small bowl, whip together flour and water until smooth. Stir into beef mixture and cook until thickened and bubbly.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and divide pasta among 4 shallow pasta bowls. Top with beef\/mushroom mixture.
