Delicious and Foolproof Recipes for Beginners.
The weather is cold, fuel prices are high, and the cost of food is shocking. The Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook could save money, time and effort, and tempt your family to wonderful meals as well.
This neat little book isn’t just for those owning a bespoke pressure cooker, it’s also for those of us who have multicookers or instantpots. They have pressure cooking settings so we can take advantage of these great recipes.
Pressure cooking cookbooks have been around for years but so many of them lack inspiration. We all like a good old-fashioned stew from time to time but a book filled with nothing but variations on that theme will lose its culinary charm after the first week. The Quick and Easy Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Barbara Schieving offers contemporary, eclectic and enticing dishes – and all of them are indeed simple.
The book is divided into chapters which include breakfasts, sandwiches, wraps and tacos, soups, shortcut dinners, 30-minute meals, Sunday suppers, and desserts. There are dishes to appeal to vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters, and those with a sweet tooth.
My favourites
I could happily eat my way through every recipe here, but these are my favourites so far: Three Ingredient Pulled Pork which will be perfect for some al fresco meals this summer; Creamy Red Lentil Soup when a warming bowl of flavourful goodness is needed; Kung Po Chicken for something exotic; Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake for a moreish dessert.
The Quick and Easy Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook was evidently written for the US market, but the measurements are all in grams as well as cups etc. It’s the perfect gift for anybody new to pressure cooking. It’s a practical book stuffed with great recipes and ideas. This mode of cooking saves time and money without sacrificing taste, texture or choice.
