Gratien & Meyer Cremant De Loire Brut
Sparkling Summer Sip.
Gratien Meyer was founded in Saumur in 1864. The estate is celebrated for its sparkling wines and this Gratien & Meyer Cremant De Loire Brut is from that stable.
Fermentation:
Hand-harvested into perforated crates, selection of the juice during whole-berry pressing, primary fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, ageing on fine lees. The second fermentation takes place directly in the bottle (using the traditional method just like champagne). For the second fermentation, the yeast used was selected in Champagne to bring out the finesse and fruitiness of the blends.
This is a good solid Loire Cremant displaying all the characteristics of the classic Chenin, Cabernet, Franc, Chardonnay blend. The Chenin brings acidity while Franc offers fruit.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: pale straw with persistent fine bubbles
Nose: citrus, green apples, white blossom.
Palate: plenty of summer fruit and a hint of citrus
Serve Gratien & Meyer Cremant De Loire Brut at -6℃ as an aperitif. It pairs well with delicate white fish and salads. The perfect summer sip.
