Smartie Buns
From Sainsbury's
Older children may like to help making these for a younger
child or toddler's party.
Serves: 24
Preparation time: 10 Minutes
Cooking time: 15 Minutes
Ingredients
50g soft margarine
50g caster sugar
50g self raising flour, sifted
pinch of baking powder
1 medium size egg
50g glace icing
Selection of food colourings
24 Smarties
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, gas mark 4.
Place the margarine, caster sugar,flour, baking powder and egg in a
bowl and beat vigorously for 2 minutes, until thoroughly blended.
Arrange 24 petits four cases on a baking sheet and two thirds fill with
mixture.
Bake in the oven for 10- 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Divide the icing into several portions and colour each one with a few
drops of colouring. Spoon a little icing onto the centre of each cake
and top with a Smartie.
