Cooking time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients

    50g golden caster sugar
    100g butter, softened
    150g plain flour, sieved

    12 boiled sweets
    Icing sugar to dust

Method
Preheat the oven to 150°C, fan 130°C, gas 2.

Beat the sugar into the butter, add the flour and work into a dough.

Roll out on a surface dusted with a little plain flour to a thickness of 1cm. Cut out 12 large stars, hearts and other Christmas shapes using cutters.

Cut out sweet-sized holes from the middle of the biscuits.

Carefully place the biscuits on a greaseproof paper-covered baking tray, then place a boiled sweet into each hole. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden and the sweets have melted. Remove from the oven and using a cocktail stick, make a small hole through the top of each biscuit.

Leave to cool for 15 minutes. Dust with icing sugar if you wish. Thread coloured string through the holes made with the cocktail stick, tie and hang the biscuits from the Christmas tree
