Italian Meatloaf

Ingredients:
1 egg, well beaten
1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce with Italian herbs, divided
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup Italian style dry bread crumbs
1-1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 lb lean ground beef (93% fat free)

Method
Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl, combine beaten egg with 3/4 cup tomato sauce, onions, bread crumbs, oregano, salt and pepper.

Gently mix in ground beef until well blended. Press into a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Bake in preheated oven 45 minutes. Drain pan drippings.

Spoon remaining tomato sauce atop meat loaf.

Continue to bake until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
